About

The Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation (KDSF) Melaka Centre was established in 1999 by the Kiwanis Club of Melaka to provide early intervention services for children with Down Syndrome in the Melaka area. The centre operates from a government bungalow house and currently serves over 26 students with the support of three teachers.

Key services and programs offered by the KDSF Melaka Centre include:

  • Early Intervention Programme (EIP): Provides comprehensive support for infants and toddlers with Down Syndrome, including therapy, education, and parent training.

The KDSF Melaka Centre relies heavily on public donations and the support of the Kiwanis Club of Melaka to sustain its operations. The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the center's fundraising efforts and has necessitated a shift to online teaching and counseling.

The centre is always seeking additional funding and support to ensure that it can continue to provide its essential services to children with Down Syndrome in the Melaka community.
